I posted a post in my Facebook class group asking who wants to visit back our secondary school. The place where we have the deepest memories. Sheng Hann, Seng Kheong, Chee Yong, Reuben replied upon the post and turned up at school that morning. A pity for those who are in Form 6- Ling Zhen, Soon Li, Jason, Koshigan, Mukesha and others, they have to attend school. As for Sheng Hann, Seng Kheong, Chee Yong and I were on sem break from University & College whereas Reuben play truant from his college. He told me that he had driving lessons so he would not attend his college class so he could join us.

7/01/2010
At about 9.30am we gathered and went in the school compound. Along we walked, we reminded each other those were the days we usually use this long walking path to classrooms. Time really flies. Quite at the time when the 1st recess bell rang and we saw
Mr. Ong Aik Leong (form 3 arts teacher). Chee Yong & I eagerly told Seng Kheong 'your father your father...' Mr. Ong told us that the principal, Mr. Gan will be transferring to another school next two weeks. He urged us to say goodbye to him. He did a lot for our school - implemented new rules that help in disciplinary and upgrade our school to be a better one.
Then, we went to the teacher's room. The 2nd teacher we saw was
Pn. Oo Ewe Sim (my form 1 prefect teacher). After talking to her about all our current life, we walked straight to the end of the office to see other teachers. There were
Pn. Josephine Khoo (form 4&5 english teacher) together with
Pn. Tan Fang Peng (from4&5 add maths teacher) and
Pn.Tay Hee Lim (from2&3 prefect teacher). We did not have the chance to talk to Pn. Josephine because she was on her way to her class. We were left with Pn. Tay and Pn. Tan. The same thing they asked us, where are we studying and what course are we taking. And also talked about our tertiary life processes.
Pn. Tan had difficulties recalling Seng Kheong's name. I purposely asked whether she remembered mine, she said of course she remembered.
Next, we went to the office to see our dearest sir,
Mr. Tan Hock Lye. He had been teaching us at form 4 and form 5 levels Chemistry and Modern Maths. His commitment towards teaching and his care towards our class (5Aman/09) was as high as the birds can fly. Luckily, i did not let him down in both of this subjects. He was so happy to see us especially Seng Kheong & I because both of us was visiting for the first time after SPM results taking. Talked about our uni or college life (ya again), his son, his doing in school work, year 2010 form 5 students and many more. He said that Mr. Koh will be retiring end of this year. Mr. Tan had difficulties figuring Seng Kheong's name. But what he knew was Seng Kheong was the leader of St. John Squad. Sheng Hann said he was hungry furthermore we missed school food, we invited Mr. Tan down to the canteen too.
On the way to canteen, I asked Mr. Tan why our dear
Cikgu Fatmawati went to another school. He said because her application to be transferred was approved by JPN. According to what she personally told me (in Facebook), she wanted a transfer because she had bought a house on the mainland. Cikgu Fatmawati was our form teacher for form 4&5, teacher for Biology and Moral for form 4&5 as well. When we were in form 4, she was new to the school and just a blink of eye, she transferred. Mr. Tan also said that Cikgu Nalini (beginning of form 4 BM teacher) and Cikgu Yusri (art teacher) are going to transfer too and that new teachers are coming in.
just ignore both the middle one...What a coincidence we met
Mr. Gan Hua Beng (school's principal),
Mr. Foo Chuat Meng (co-curriculum senior assistant) and
Mr. Koh Chin Hock (form 4&5 physics teacher) at the canteen. They were just about to leave after their meal but they stayed back to talk to us. They asked the same thing what those previously met teacher asked. Mr. Gan went quite a distance for a incoming call. So Mr. Foo started guessing names too. Oh my oh my. How come Seng Kheong's name was so difficult for so many teachers... Hmmm... I wondered... Mr. Foo only remembered Chee Yong's, Reuben's and mine. Pity Sheng Hann and Seng Kheong. Same question again came... We felt like we were recorders, replayed and replayed the recorders. Mr. Foo had class and went off after a few minutes-talk.
We walked by each and every stall and noted the differences of stalls... Mr. Tan and Mr. Koh then came towards us. Chee Yong and I kept reminding Mr. Koh for KFC, as he promised us if we get a credit for physics in SPM. He smiled. We sat down on the bench and started talking about the current and then the past. Those were the days when we were in class, when they were teaching us, and we were so playful... Many laughter came... Reuben asked Mr. Koh how was he for the 1 year after we left school, he replied 'without you (Reuben), his heart is at peace'. Everyone laughed. Mr. Koh and Mr. Tan even reminded us about Reuben and Jason sleeping in class while they are teaching...
Too many things that i could not write in here...After Mr. Gan finished with his call, he approached us and asked us how were we and what were/are we doing currently. At some point, i asked him for why he is going to transfer to another school since he done a lot for our school. He answered, he rejected many times indeed for the past few years/months to many schools. But for this time, JPN sent a letter stated that he MUST transfer and a principal from SMK Westlands is coming to replace him. And we continue to talk more about our school's past principals... that is the standard of management and discipline of our school during the control of Encik Sim Jin Tang was very good until the change of control to Pn. Siew Lai Chun. The standard started to fall then. Pn. Siew took over the school in the year 2004, 16 August. We entered the school in the year 2005 it seems she was still quite new to the school.
To me, as well to some others, the school now has upgraded to be proven better than other schools. Mr. Gan added that he had visit some schools like Penang Free School and Methodist Boys School, and founded out that some of their classes are worst than our school. Mr. Tan said that now our school students are good and more discipline. Mr. Gan then said those naughty students were kicked out of the school, leaving behind those adequate behavior students, majority Chinese.
After about 20 minutes, we saw girls buying food, that was to indicate the 2nd recess for upper secondary. Mr. Tan told us to hurry or else we had to queue up later. Mr. Gan then told us to eat and he said he had to clear up his documents and things before he leaves the school. He told us to feel free to see him in his office later on. We bought our food and sat in the teacher's table without being chased by prefects as we did during school days. Together on a round table were Mr. Koh, Mr. Tan, Chee Yong, Sheng Hann, Seng Kheong, Reuben and I. Mr. Koh just ate, Reuben was not hungry, so both of them watched us ate. We talked while we ate. The bell rang, many familiar faces stepped in the canteen... old friends came talking to us, smiling to us...
Chee Yong > me > Reuben > Sheng HannAll of us walked out of the canteen headed to the office. On the way, we saw
Encik Sadri (senior assistant student affairs). He padded Reuben shoulders and asked how were we doing. We did not talked much to him, as he was rushing to get in class, besides we were not close to him during our school days. Secretly... none of us (exclude Mr. Tan and Mr. Koh) liked/like him...Ok~ Now it's no more a secret~
Mr. Tan had work to do so we said bye to him. Mr. Koh too, before he went to class, Reuben said to him 'after retirement, go to be sai gong...' Not long, we saw
Mr. Tan Lock Yee (form 2&3 english teacher) walking down the stairs and
Encik Nasir (senior assistant) coming from the teacher's room towards us. I did not know whom to approach first. Since, the boys went to Mr. Tan, so Chee Yong and I went to Encik Nasir.
Encik Nasir asked us about our SPM results and what we are pursuing now. After that, we then went to join the boys to talk with Mr. Tan. He said that he saw Chee Yong and my facebook indicating we changed a lot since we left school, especially he emphasized on Chee Yong's 2 in 1 photo (with her boy) and my statuses and photos. I did not know what was wrong with my statuses and photos... Was my statuses filled with too many vulgar words (i think yes), was my photo mainly self-snapshot-ed (i strongly disagree).
The next teacher that came to us was
Mr. Lee Chin Lee (disciplinary head). He became so friendly unlike last time he used to direct us this and that. I told Mr. Lee that Sheng Hann's hair is dyed and that Reuben's and Seng Kheong's hair is long, wreck their butts!! Mr. Lee smiled and said we are big enough and we are no longer in secondary level, it is okay.
Later on,
Pn. Ho Eeow Khin (teacher for special education) came and talked to us. She seemed to know a lot about my current uni UTAR. First she asked Chee Yong where she is studying, Chee Yong answered Taylors U, she said why did not she go to UTAR as the cert of UTAR is more valuable...bla bla bla... She asked me, i said UTAR; she asked where i live there, i said Westlake, she asked aren't the houses there expensive; i answered not really...bla bla bla... When Pn. Ho talked to the guys, Chee Yong asked me how much my monthly rental is, i said RM 250 single room; I asked her, she said hers RM 800. Lolxx...
The last place we went was the counseling room to meet Ms. Low Li Im (counselor). She was concerned about our current academic performances, and we checked with her whether our paths now are the right ones. She gave us encouragement and advises to enhance ourselves in the the future. After 30minutes, a man came in the room that was for a discussion. So we left the said bye and left the room, no where to head, teachers that should be seen, were seen. We walked through the long walking path again but this time, the opposite direction.
IF we were still in uniforms...Before exiting the guard house, we took photos for memories.
Time and Tide wait for no man. The clock ticks even when we are sleeping, all i can do is just wish that we were still in school. I want to appreciate the school and the teachers.
But, look forward and knowing how to maintain our friendship are more important than wishing. Be realistic, ya...
